Myself
This comes about from a story my Grandfather used to tell me. King Heiron II of Syracuse wanted a pure gold crown commissioned and careful weighed the gold and gave it to a smith. The king was suspicious that the smith had not used all the gold and alloyed the gold. He asked Archimedes to solve the problem. Due to the irregular shape of the crown, Archimedes was stumped. He went to the public baths to relax and as he slipped into the water, he noticed the water rise. He had a sudden flash of inspiration. The displaced water was the same volume as the item that was submerged. He realised he could get a pure lump of gold with the same volume (which he could figure out with the displace) and weigh them. In a fit of happiness, he ran down the streets naked from the baths yelling “Eureka! I’ve found it!”
Is this a true story? Not sure! But it shows the energy people are imbued with when they figure something out or come up with an idea THEMSELVES. Telling someone an idea and having them realise it are fundamentally different. Make them come up with the idea - they’ll be more excited about it. Give them the Eureka Energy!
