Scaling a company is a journey that takes you through different managerial roles. At first, you start as a Product Manager, where your primary focus is the product itself. You are deeply involved in the details of design, functionality, and user experience. You're responsible for making sure the product is the best it can be, and that it meets the needs of the customers.
As the company grows, your role shifts. You become a People Manager. In this capacity, your focus is on managing the team, nurturing talent, and ensuring everyone is working effectively together. You're no longer immersed in the minutiae of the product, but rather, you're ensuring that the right people are in the right roles doing the right work.
Finally, as the company continues to scale, your role evolves again. You become a Money Manager or a Capital Allocator. At this stage, your primary concern is making sure the company is financially sound. You're making decisions about where to allocate resources to maximize profits and secure the financial future of the company.
Each stage of this journey requires a different set of skills and a different focus. It's a challenging journey, but it's also one that brings great rewards.
